The 12 signs in the Vedic (sidereal) zodiac correspond to the same constellations as Western astrology, but use a fixed star-based system rather than a moving one: Mesha (Aries) Vrishabha (Taurus) Mithuna (Gemini) Karka (Cancer) Simha (Leo) Kanya (Virgo) Tula (Libra) Vrishchika (Scorpio) Dhanu (Sagittarius) Makara (Capricorn) Kumbha (Aquarius) Meena (Pisces)
