Third Eye Chakra Activity #2: When a craving hits, the brain says, "I need this." Cognitive defusion is a psychological tool that creates a wedge of space between you and that thought. But you are not your thoughts; you are the one observing them. We are going to relabel internal narrative. When an addictive thought arises, record it in your chakra journal, catch it in your Floating Notes, or simply say it aloud, but change the phrasing. For example, instead of: "I need to numb out" change it to: "I am having the thought that I need to numb out." To take it one step further: "I notice that I am having the thought that I need to numb out." By simply observing our mind, we strip the craving of its urgency. It is just a firing synapse, not a command we have to follow.
