Self & The Soul

The First, then, should be compared to light, the next [Spirit or Intellect] to the sun, and the third [soul] to the celestial body of the moon, which gets its light from the sun.

To be and to have meaning are the same.

You are a little soul carrying around a corpse.

Nothing is in the intellect that was not first in the senses, except the intellect itself.

Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think.

The true value of a human being can be found in the degree to which he has attained liberation from the self.

I know what I mean by the term I and myself; and I know this immediately, or intuitively, though I do not perceive it as I perceive a triangle, a colour, or a sound.

The self is not something ready-made, but something in continuous formation through choice of action.

Seek out that particular mental attribute which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, 'This is the real me,' and when you have found that attitude, follow it.

We are our choices.

I am not this hair, I am not this skin, I am the soul that lives within.
